Instructions:
First attempt to uninstall via Control Panel / Add or Remove Programs. If the MicroWIN V4 software is still entered there and it is not possible to uninstall it, then please proceed as follows.
Important:
Make a backup of your existing Micro/WIN projects.
Delete program files
- Navigate to your Micro/WIN directory in the Windows Explorer and delete it (default directory: C:\Program Files\Siemens\STEP 7 MicroWIN)
Delete Registry entries
- Click on Start > Run....
- Enter "regedit" in the command line and acknowledge with "OK".

- Save your current Registry by marking "My Computer" and via File > Export... making a backup of your Registry data.
- Open the directory HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall.
- Mark the Uninstall folder and open the Find dialog via Edit > Find....
- Enter STEP 7-Micro/WIN for "Find what:" and select all the "Look at" options in the Find mask.
- Start the search with Find Next.

- The Registry entry to be found depends on the version of STEP 7 Micro/WIN installed. To make sure that you find the right Registry entry please check whether the "DisplayName" code matches one of the "MicroWin Release" column entries in Table 1 (example: the DisplayName code of STEP 7 Micro/WIN V4.0 is SIMATIC STEP 7-Micro/WIN V4.0.0.81).
- Mark the folder in which you have found the DisplayName code with the correct value and delete it from the directory HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ Software\ Microsoft\ Windows\ CurrentVersion\ Uninstall in the Registry.

Notes:
